MN9 noted in best american non-required reading

Congrats to Ben Bellizzi, whose short story, “Clean, Straight Lines,” has been included in the 2011 BANRR anthology‘s Notable Reading list (click the “Notables” tab). This popular series of anthologies is edited by Dave Eggers and the students at his San Francisco writing center, and the 2011 edition is introduced by Guillermo del Toro. Bellizzi is mentioned on p. 484. Big props!

annam manthiram’s after the tsunami

Issue 10 contributor, Annam Manthiram‘s debut, After the Tsunami, is available from the Stephen F. Austin University Press. NewPages listed this haunting tale as a “New and Noteworthy Book,” and The Albuquerque Journal praised it as “A harrowing story of youth survival.” Congrats, Annam!
